Deskripshon

Caribbean societies have an intense history. In most cases, however, the presentation of this history still does not take into account the position of women and their contributions to society. We need a vision that is more inclusive and more realistic, especially with the renewed interest by regional groups and governments in Caribbean integration. the present work aims to contribute to such a new vision, both from an artistic and a scientific point of view. One of its distinguishing marks is its focus on women in Curacao. The common history of political, economic, cultural, and other types of divisions makes the exploration of all geographical areas an important starting point for any project of wider Caribbean integration. More works comparing and exploring women's experiences in the whole region are also necessary. Hopefully, the present work will contribute to efforts in that direction. Let the Song of Freedom be our song of hope to the rest of the Caribbean
